The Department of Immunopharmacology (Head: Prof. Christian Schulz) is looking at the next possible date for a

Postdoctoral fellow (m/f/d) in Immunology

to study the role of innate immune cells in heart failure and cardiovascular inflammation. The position is permanent and full-time. We work in an interdisciplinary team to unravel disease mechanisms through basic science and translational research and develop new therapies.

Your tasks:

  • To explore immune mechanisms of heart failure in mice in vivo, in ex vivo samples and in primary cell cultures
  • Design and conduct experiments, including in vivo mouse work and generate quality data
  • Develop and establish cutting-edge technology such as single cell sequencing analysis and multiplex imaging
  • Support supervision of PhD students and technical staff
  • Write scientific manuscripts and support proposals to aquire third-party funds

Your skills:

  • Ph.D. in biology, immunology or in a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in molecular and cellular biology, imaging and mouse work
  • Collaboration with other researchers, teamwork, scientific integrity and enthusiam
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
  • Bioinformatic skills are advantageous
