The Mannheim Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg, in close cooperation with the Department of Medical Personalized Oncology (A420) at the DKFZ (director Prof. Dr. S. Loges), is looking for a

Post-Doc in Cancer Biology (m/f/i)

with a focus on Liquid Biopsy, single cell analysis and molecular biology work.
The place of employment is Heidelberg. The full-time position is limited to 2 years, a long-term cooperation is announced.

The scope of duties includes:

  • Exploration of tumor heterogeneity
  • Isolation of circulating tumor cells, extracellular vesicles.
  • Development and application of new mutli-omic single cell analysis (proteome, genome, transcriptome) 
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in the acquisition of third-party funds

Qualification profile:

  • A completed PhD degree in biology, biochemistry or medicine or related field
  • Experience in single cell analyses
  • Ideally experience in Liquid Biopsy
  • Basic bioinformatics knowledge (e.g., handling data sets in R)
  • A high level of self-motivation, enthusiasm and willingness to perform high quality research
